Lacks will not be lacking in Laredo

According to PRWEB.com, Victoria,Texas-based Lacks Stores Inc. has announce it is closing it's 36 Texas furniture retail stores. However, this company is not to be confused with Lacks Valley Stores, a family owned company which owns 10 stores in Laredo and the South Texas valley. A "public notice" icon appears on the company's website which tells us:
Lacks Valley Stores (http://www.lacksvalley.com/), ranks 65th in the top 100 retail furniture operations in the U.S. with over 700 employees, according  to Furniture Today.
Its stores are located on the Texas border from Laredo to Port Isabel, including locations in Brownsville, Harlingen, Edinburgh, Pharr, McAllen, Mission and Rio Grande City. The 140,000-square-foot Lacks Valley Store in McAllen is the largest furniture store in Texas.
So get ready for those now-traditional, seasonal Thanksgiving and Christmas commercials from our freindly, and still-open-for-business, Laredo Lacks store.

  1. Never would have known unless you wrote about it, but then again, never would have missed it if it did close.

  2. I hear you, I've actually stepped inside the store once. I probably was asking for directions.
