Webb County Courthouse turns 100

The Webb County Courthouse celebrated it's 100th anniversay Monday morning. On the upper left, is the "old" courthouse which burned down around 1905. The photograph below shows the beautiful 100 year old Webb County courthouse which continues in full use. The current courthouse was restored to it's original splendor at painstaking detail. Some of the woodwork used in the restoration had to be brought it from other parts of Texas in order to have a perfect match. Many 19th century and early 20th century photographs of Laredo can be found in Jerry Thompson's "Laredo: A Pictorial History"
