Looks like someone at Laredo's Convention and Visitors Bureau is not doing their job

View of Texas Travel Information Center at Laredo
Unfortunately, the Texas Travel Bureau on IH-35 is not too busy these days

This is what appeared on a search I did from a link to Texas Highways Magazine. Compare the events shown for Laredo versus those shown for San Antonio. Granted, San Antonio is a big city with lots to do.....but is Laredo that bad? Why not at least provide a breakdown of the major WBCA events. That way it will make for a longer list of activities and might  actually get noticed by visitors to their website. That one-line entry for Laredo does not look good at all.

  1. It's one of those departments where politicians reign the day. The tasks for this department belong in a separate entity - arms length from the City or at least from their direct involvement. In the past, the City leaders/politicians pretend to know marketing but really are only seeking gratification or satisfaction of less than strategic plan. They are disruptive to the strategic process and often do not understand marketing.

I think Miguel Conchas would do a great job if they funded the Chamber at the level of investment that is budgeted for the LCVB.

Now, about the posting....that seems simple does it not?!

  2. It would make a lot of sense if the LCVB worked in collaboration with the Texas travel bureau or whatever name it goes by now. Actually, they should even be housed together-except the Laredo city limits do go that far. As for Miguel Conchas, I agree he would do an excellent job. I've known him for a while and he does have a lot of common sense. Thanks for reading
