I didn't get all the details, but while watching pro8news, they announced that the HEB Plus way up on North McPhereson was going to be sponsoring some sort of literacy event(s). First of all, this is good. It's always good when someone in the community seeks to help out. I just wondered why didn't they have that at one of the other HEBs?
The HEBS on Saunders, on Zapata Highway and downtown are all located in areas that really need help with literacy. I figured that HEB would say " ok, if we're going to do this, lets' do it where it really can help". For some reason, the HEB Plus doesn't come to mind right away as one of the places in town where help with literacy is really needed.
I could be wrong. Literacy and income don't always correlate 100 per cent of the time, but probably pretty nearly so.
