Henry showing his true colors: Red, white and..... Red

Local Blue Dog Cuellar walking & talking like a republican !

I must have missed the last election; the one in which US congressional district 28 was handed over to the republicans.  How else could anyone explain the kind of record being compiled by the incumbent, our very own Henry Cuellar? 

He says he's a blue dog but he votes like a true red republican, especially recently. He's been on board practically every single pro-business, anti-environment decision that has come up lately. He's all for opening up the Gulf of Mexico to deep-water drilling again, barely a year after the greatest environmental disaster in U.S. history. He's gone on record as saying that the oil/gas industry is already over regulated. This in the face of the free-for-all, hydraulic fracturing boom that the industry is carrying on virtually in secret. Not surprisingly, the oil/gas industry continues to be one of Cuellar's biggest financial contributors.

All in all, I think it's safe to say that the (D) next to his name does not appear to stand for Democrat. Increasingly, it seems to more accurately stand for Disconnected.
