Above is the vote for all Texas representatives to the US House.  The vote was for HR 2018, The Clean Water Cooperative Federalism Act of 2011. The passage of this bill essentially turns over regulation (or non/regulation) of water quality from the EPA to the states.

With Texas currently failing to adequately ensure that our state's water is indeed safe amid the fracking frenzy, this is definitely bad news for all Texans who value safe air and water. It is however a victory for the Oil and Gas industry which reportedly is a substantial financial contributor to congressman Cuellar's coffers.

  1. I don't even think we can call Cuellar a democrat anymore with a straight face. Lets start calling him the republican he is. Conservative blue dog democrat is nothing but a republican by another name. Cuellar is only a democrat one time every other year and that is during re-election time.

A city with 90% democrats has elected a republican. Let that sink in for a while.

  2. i agree with the comment above. its one thing to call yourself a fiscal conservative, but what does that have to do with all the other conservative votes he makes? if he believes, like most republicans, that states can do everything better, then why not run as a republican next time?
