Panhandle cities getting $$$ for Port to Plains highway

From The Lubbock Avalance Journal

AUSTIN — The areas surrounding Lubbock and Amarillo will receive nearly half of more than $230 million approved by the Texas Transportation Commission Thursday for new highway projects.
The money is a portion of a $3 billion bond issue approved in 2007 by Texas voters for projects tagged as Port-to-Plains.

The corridor is a proposed 2,333-mile highway designed to link the economies of the United States, Canada and Mexico, stretching from Laredo to Canada via West Texas.

Hey! Henry Cuellar, where's our $$ Millions for the Southern leg of this Ports To Plains deal?  Chances are the fracking industry will never agree to slow down their operations around Carrizo Springs, Texas long enough for any construction to take place. As we all know, they pretty much call the shots around here.
