New restaurant coming! : Hmmm where did I read that before?
Well, the trend continues! Increasingly, the Laredo blogs are at the forefront of presentation all sorts of "news" to our community. Going back to last year, it was Que Fregados who reported on the FBI's confiscation of boxes of Webb County CAA records. According to BOLAS (Blogs of Laredo Association Statistics), traditional news sources are, more often than not, taking a back seat in reporting the news.
Not surprisingly, today's LMT is the second source to report that a new restaurant is coming to town. Namely, the Dallas, Texas-based Corner Bakery Cafe. Not to toot our own horn, but the first one to report on this particular tid-bit, our very own LaredoTejas Business Desk. Honk! Honk!
Our Award-winning Laredo Morning Times reported on the news in part :
(I'm sure they've won some awards in the 131 years they'be been in business)
Restaurateur Bernardo Castillon has planned for franchise locations in the Laredo, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Brownsville and Harlingen areas, bringing the total number of planned franchise locations up to 45 in a state that already boasts 23 locations, according to a company press release.
“A big factor in my decision to work with Corner Bakery Cafe was the culinary innovation and ingredient-inspired food behind the brand.
They use fresh ingredients and prepare every meal to order,” said Castillon, owner and principal of MX Restaurant and Bakeries.
For the Laredo location, Corner Bakery Cafe is in the process of pinpointing the best sites between two intersections, I-35 and Saunders and I-35 and Del Mar, said Castillon.
“We are confident that we will find a good location in Laredo before the end of 2012,” she said.
Amidst an engagingly cozy décor and laid-back atmosphere, guests at Corner Bakery Cafe are provided with an entirely customizable menu.
In addition, Corner Bakery Cafe offers a plethora of healthy options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“There are options for any diet, including diet-friendly meal options and splurge-worthy sweets.
