Plastic bags as far as the eyes can see
What ever happened to the "no plastic bag" ordinance. I remember reading up on it once a while back but to be honest I don't remember what derailed it. I think it was tabled and forgotten but I may be wrong. Anyway, as you can see for yourself, the plastic bag industry continues to prosper as Laredo Shoppers rush home with their treasures.

I have been to city's with a plastic bag ban, it really was no big deal. If you wanted a plastic bag, it was $ .10 extra. I have plenty of pictures of downtown shoppers using their own bags - it is just easier to use the giant red/white/blue bags. I think I still have some of the past plastic net bags with the virgen de guadalupe printed on them. It is not that unusual.
