Although, I admit I voted against the arena AND against the baseball park.

MaximilianoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263319419466632140.post-84899662404478240802012-03-15T14:48:55.909-05:002012-03-15T14:48:55.909-05:00Max, there is a way they can get to 4a/4b, but it ...Max, there is a way they can get to 4a/4b, but it will take some creative financing and approval by the legislature.

However, my point is that we did it right and financed via a sales tax, which on the border is an effictive tool as there are lots of shoppers from across. I am suprised Hildalgo did not go this route.Tom Wadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263319419466632140.post-24186215122897399952012-03-15T12:55:01.792-05:002012-03-15T12:55:01.792-05:00Tom, the original Arena cost would have already be...Tom, the original Arena cost would have already been paid off. Now with the new ball park being rolled into the existing debt, there is no chance for 4a,4b to happen for at least 6-8 years.

MaximilianoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263319419466632140.post-66232696372033756232012-03-15T08:14:34.919-05:002012-03-15T08:14:34.919-05:00See, Laredo did something right, well at least the...See, Laredo did something right, well at least the voters did. They built an arena that was funded by a 1/4% sales tax. Which by the way has already generated enough money to pay off the arena. And the arena provides a good revenue stream to several city accounts.

(Long story as to why the city has rat holed over $20 million. It would make a great Laredo Morning Times article, or KGNS story.....but opps I forget there is no real press in Laredo.)

And the Laredo voters did the same with the new ballpark. They are letting the Mexican shoppers help finance the ballpark.Tom Wadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263319419466632140.post-48263366012876868572012-03-14T22:04:16.451-05:002012-03-14T22:04:16.451-05:00Whoever gets the contract for that sign is gonna m...Whoever gets the contract for that sign is gonna make big bucks.Maximilianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04226194637990012293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263319419466632140.post-10074516183285264632012-03-14T16:06:55.811-05:002012-03-14T16:06:55.811-05:00Welcome to 'USDA-DHS-CPB-POTUS-REP28.GOV' ...Welcome to 'USDA-DHS-CPB-POTUS-REP28.GOV' ArenaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
